Commands
ht - hide turtle
st- show turtle
cs - clear screen and turtle goes to "home" position
clean - clears the lines off of the screen while the turtle "stays put"
ct - clear text
ts - full screen of text (do this if you want to see all of what you typed in)
ss - split screen (shows the turtle and the small text box)
fs - full screen
pu - pen up
pd - pen down
fd 100 - forward 100 turtle steps
bk 100 - backward 100 turtle steps
rt 90 - right 90˚
lt 90 - left 90˚
bye - correct way to quit LOGO program without getting "yelled at"
Writing a program in LOGO
To make a square:
to S
repeat 4 [fd 100 rt 90]
end
S defined
When you type s and hit return, the turtle makes a square.
To change the directions for square, type:
edit "s
(you will get a new screen where you can type in your changes)
When you are done, choose File/Close and accept changes
Saving in LOGO The first time you save: choose File/Save Logo Session
Give it an appropriate name (house) and save it in your document folder.
The next time you save: choose save as/house2
The next time you save: choose save as/house3
To retrieve your work, choose File/Load Logo Session and then you must change the Enable: Logo workspaces to All files and then choose your most recent file. Your programs should now be loaded and any programs that you defined should work.
